Pastor Jonathan Arnold    330-862-2004
Tuesday October 16, 9:30am-2pm
Ohio Association Fall Meeting

This Fall we are fortunate to have two speakers. Dr. David Kimberly will
fill us in on our Association’s Barnabas Ministry and focus in on his trip
to South Africa. Rev. Mitch Reed will share about his church’s team-teaching
mission trip this summer to Europe. Also, Rev. Jeff Griffith will be with us
and update us on his new situation.

Host pastor, Rev. Jonathan Arnold and his church will lead us in worship and
provide as always, a delicious lunch. After lunch we will have our business
meeting. A basket will be provided for any donations toward the cost of the
lunch. If you plan on attending, it will be helpful to e-mail me
(johnhood@roadrunner.com)  so that I can give the host church an approximate
number for food preparation. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend
and bring friends.

Up-date on the Griffith Family

Our Ohio Association sponsored missionaries to the Czech Republic, Jeff and
Lisa Griffith and their children, have returned to the States and will
continue their ministry stationed stateside for the foreseeable future.
Following much prayer and consultation with our Ohio Association officers,
several circumstances factored in their decision to return to the States.
Last November Lisa’s father fell and seriously hurt his leg which has not
healed. Their children have special needs and the cost of their education in
the Czech Republic has become prohibitive. They were unable to find suitable
housing for their family in the small community in which they were
ministering, necessitating 90-minute trips from where they were living in
Prague. And the small Kralupy Church was no longer viable nor had the
necessary leadership to sustain their ministry.

In July Lisa and the children returned to her Father’s home in Iowa after
receiving a contract in a nearby Iowa public school to teach special
education. Jeff stayed in the Czech Republic to wrap up his current ministry
there and to have hernia surgery in August before returning to the States.

Jeff will remain as a full-time missionary, continuing to do ministry both
here in the States and returning to the Czech Republic several times a year
to continue the English-Speaking Family Camp and ministry in the Czech
public schools. Jeff is seeking the Lord’s direction for his ministry here
in the States. Using his gifts, he desires to counsel individuals and
churches to help with their spiritual health, vision, and renewal. In the
next six months Jeff will be contacting his supporting churches to explain
his continuing ministry in the Czech Republic as well as his new ministry
here in the States. Jeff also would like to help raise funds for two youth
mentoring ministries in the Czech Republic that have been very effective.
