Ohio Association Officers’ Meeting Minutes
Zoom Meeting Wednesday, May 27, 4 p.m.
Present: Jim Marshall, David Kimberly, Jonathan Cheatham, Dayle Keefer, Dave Dake, and
Donna Edsall
The meeting opened with prayer.
The purpose of the meeting was to continue the discussion begun on May 19 about David
Kimberly’s motion. The motion was discussed at the Spring OA meeting and referred to the
officers.
The motion was as follows: The Officers of the Ohio Association authorize the creation of a
website, SynerGServe.com, utilizing the Barnabas Ministry online donation tab to deposit
Christian coaching and consulting fees into the OA Barnabas Ministry account.
We began by reviewing the comments made at the Spring Meeting. Some members felt the tab
was not needed. Some thought the website already existed. “Mission drift” was
discussed—some felt the Barnabas Ministry was forgetting its original vision. It was voted to
receive the proposal and refer it to the officers. Therefore the officers set up a Zoom meeting for
Wednesday, May 27.
David Kimberly explained that he was proposing a new website, not the same one with the
Gingerbread Boy book on it. He did not think his ministry was “drifting” but instead compared
it to when Habitat for Humanity has a store and uses donations to fund their work. After a robust
discussion, the officers voted unanimously to accept David Kimberly’s proposal.
In the discussion we agreed there would be no advertising for the OA on the new website.
We will need to have another meeting in early September to discuss and plan the October 20
meeting with Marc Gauthier.
