  • Minutes: Minutes of the last meeting are available on the Ohio Association web site; minutes from Executive Committe Meeting 11/17/2007 read to the delegates assembled.
  • Prayer for specific persons and needs; various personal announcements.
  • Treasurer Report: Balance as of 05/02/2008: $1579.39.
  • Officer Nominations and Results: delegates assembled voted to continue with the present officers for the next twelve months:

    • Marshall Pierson: Secretary

2008 Winter Banquet: it was agreed by all that Troyer’s Restaurant was a good venue, and that the 2009 banquet likely will be held again at Troyer’s.

Allegheny Fellowship paper re: Integrity of the Scriptures. It was moved, seconded, and carried that the Ohio Association endorse without modification the very thoughtful paper produced by the brethren of the Allegheny Fellowship, and accept as the position of the Ohio Association of Conservative Congregational Christian Churches.

Reformation Studies Institute October 28-30 at Camp McPherson near Loudonville OH. Contact Rev. David Brand, Director, Advocate Enterprise, ph 740-599-6593. Dr. Richard Daniels, an authority on Dr. John Owen, will be the main presenter.

Church Planting Seminar, Nov. 6 – 8, 2008 at Salem Evangelical Church, Marion OH, Rev. Pat Street, Pastor. Rev. Street advised that this seminar is scheduled with Dr. Ronald Hamilton, Director of Church Multiplication of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference slated to present concerning planting new churches. In support of this endeavor, it was moved, seconded, and carried that the Ohio Association donate at this time $ 500.00 towards underwriting the costs associated with holding the seminar. Fall 2008 Ohio Association Meeting: after discussion, it was decided by the delegates assembled to not hold an association meeting per se in the fall, but to instead encourage all interested persons to attend the meetings being sponsored by Advocate Enterprise and/or by Salem Evangelical Church, as described above.

Alternative Basic Ministerial Education project: a written report concerning the progress of Mr. Ted Wahl was supplied by Rev. L. David Dake, who is mentoring Mr. Wahl, and was supplemented from the floor by Rev. Jeff Lord, who is Mr. Wahl’s pastor. Overall Mr. Wahl is progressing well, albeit at a slower pace than originally anticipated due to his wide ranging commitments to family, ministry, and employments.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Everyone is encouraged to attend the annual meeting in Buffalo NY July 21-24, 2008 of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.
  2. It was reported by Dr. John Hood that Nick Cacciatore will be installed, Lord willing, May 18, 2008 as pastor of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church at the morning worship service.
  3. the assembled delegates approved $ 500.00 to Salem Evangelical Church to help underwrite the church planting seminar as previously described.
  4. the assembled delegates approved availability of a $25.00 scholarship to CCCC-affiliated persons requesting it to help defray costs to attend the reformation institute seminar or the church planting seminar, as previously detailed.
